Jack the Ripper
Our Autumn Show will be the musical of Jack the Ripper.
SHOW WEEK
Wednesday 17th to Saturday 20th November 2010 at Epsom Playhouse
This is not some gruesome musical but a light hearted fun production which Mid Surrey first did in 1986. A big cast of 16 comprises of 8 men
and 8 women plus a chorus who are heavily involved from start to finish. Both Brian Rix and Ray Cooney were involved in the original
production back in 1974 and I'm sure we will have great fun in camping it up. Among the highlights are several of the policeman dressing up as ladies
and a magician who hopefully can amaze the audience with his tricks. The songs are nice and light and there are plenty of laughs despite the
title of the show and plenty of character parts. The show has the scope to cater for as many as possible and Anthony’s aim is not only to put
on a great production but to also ensure that rehearsals are fun and people want to come along to them.
James Marr is going to be our MD and Abi Essex is choreographer.
Our Director is Anthony Kemp and rehearsals start in September
